Fender Swap - How to?

I've never removed a fender before. Can anyone describe a how-to process? Do I need anything other than hand tools? Watch outs? I need to remove PS and DS fenders from an '83 Regal for my '87 GN. I think I understood another thread to say that fenders are common bck to '81....Is that correct? The '83 is sitting on the ground without wheels.

Its pretty straight forward. The only problem you may run into is the hidden bolt up behind in the dogleg area. Take some PB Blaster and soak it down good and hard. If the J-nut snaps than you are screwed as you will have to mutilate the rocker panel to get it out. Sometimes you can get lucky and jamb a screwdriver up there for it to grab to keep it from spinning. You'll need to remove the hood or at least support it one side at a time when you are bolting the fenders back on. Its pretty easy, just time consumming. Its easier if you remove the fender with the plastic wheelhouse attached to it.
