I took my car for a spin today with the new hook headers and 3" down pipe with delta gate. It seems the headers are to hot for the starter , when it shuts off it wont start back up till it cools down.Is there any thing to put on the starter to help this.

Also the car was at 11psi and ran like s--- very slow, and died in the higher rpms. What way do you turn the screw to up the boost on the delta gate. I hope its hooked up right.

vac line to the top and the old vac line that go's to the waste gate is now down at the delta gate on the side port. Does this sound right.

sorry for so many questions.:D

thats how mines hooked up..

you can get a regulator at autozone in the air tool section for $20 and they have fittings behind the counter.. I got some vacuum line there too it is small enough to fit the deltagate and it takes some wigglin to get it on the fittings they have and its pretty thick walled so it dont collapse and i've got mine mounted under the dash so I can adjust going down the road.

if your starter wont crank a 8 to 1 compression v6 then you gotz problemo's get one while your at autozone or do the best thing and get a gear reduction starter for it.

turbobuicks.com has a pretty good deal on them and it comes with the right bolts.

I just swapped out mine for one on a LT1 powered caddy at my buddy's car lot. :D

Cool i'll check there tonight, when i took it for a drive it was spiting and spudering , then it was parked and died on me. I tryed to start it back up but i could not even hear the starter at all. About 3 hours later it started right up. Do you think its the starter getting to hot or maybe its part of the other problems i have .

you could also wire it up with a remote solenoid-it suffering from heat soak-summit sells them for about $25.00 and i have a diagrapm from M.A.D.enterprices that specializes in remote battery installations. although you can just do the remote starter thing and bring your starter solenoid up by the battery.

funny part about that is it still uses the solenoid on the starter to pull the bendix out and really dont make much difference at all..

Does your car have a starter heat shield on it? If not, that could be your problem. Are these the hooker headers?

I dont have a heat shield on it probably my problem. This is with the hooker headers.

isnt the reason you have heat soak and engine wont restart is because there is too much heat on solenoid which has to pull in to engage the starter?so if you reposition the solenoid out of the heat ridden area you eliminate the heat soak problem?

how does it still use the solenoid on the starter if nothing is wired up to that solenoid?
