I have my 200r4 hanging on a motor stand.Got the pan off and pulled out the old 200r4 filter.I have a 700r4 filter going in.The 200r4 filter was removed with the round seal on it.Now I look down into the filter hole and I see another round seal.
Whats going on.Is this second one a leftover or does it belong there.Should there only be the one on the filter.

You only need one seal in there.

They almost always stick in the pump when the filter is removed and a common error is forgetting to remove the old one when reinstalling the new filter. Guess that's what happened in your case.

I like to pull the old seal out and install it on the new filter on top of the new seal. So you'll have 2 seals on the filter neck.

Alot of people do run two seals from what I have seen. We run two on our sumps for the bottom feeders with the alloy pan kits. Just as a precaution. Mark
