All I have to say is WOW....this car is great! I have been wanting an '86/'87 GN for just at 13 years now, and the dream has finally been made a reality. The car is gorgeous....1986...purchased from 2nd owner who has had it since 1990 (14 years). He took IMMACULATE care of this car. The car was recently painted with all body fillers and rubber pieces replaced, every body panel and hinge taken off and seperately painted and then the car put back together. Paint is DARK, DARK black and THICK (can tell your time in it). Tires are brand new, new A/C and heater units, new master cylinder, new brakes, new coil pack, new headliner, new sunvisors, etc, etc, etc. The guy also had the interior steam cleaned, the motor and engine bay detailed and the paint buffed out and professionally prepped before delivering it to me. Car has 105,000 miles on it and looks damn near brand new inside and out. Runs like a raped ape for basically stock with the exception of Hooker headers, KB chip and ram air. Car cranks and runs beautifully. Has it's typical creaks and groans, but it's BEAUTIFUL...I'm so exicted. Just had to share it with everyone. I live in the Killeen/Ft. Hood area...any clubs around here?.....

Congrats! I had the same issue.. Finally got one and finally restored/built it and after a year and some $$$$ I could almost drive around town sporting a woody...(Sorry)..

Reflecting back on the grief/frustration to the whole process...I can easily forget all the issues about 12psi.. :)

Thanks for the replies ya'll.....yeah, it's EXCITING. Are there any meets around the Cental Texas area that anyone is aware of.....or am I looking in the wrong place?

You're in the right place, just takes a while for you guys to find each other. I know there are some Austin boys you could hook up with. Look at some of the other posts in the Texas section and start pm - ing some folks close to you.
Congrats on the new car!:)

The Houston Buick club goes to Temple Academy dragway every now and then.
That's not too far away from you. You could meet them there.
It use to be 1/4 mile but I think they shortened it to 1/8 because of insurance reasons. I've seen a lot of wrecks on the big end.

Steve Campbell [scampbell729@houston.rr.com] runs the show.

How do I get ahold of the Houston club?.....As for Temple Academy....they are still quarter mile. However, they do still occassionally run 1/8 mile. That track is very close to me...takes about 20 min's to get there. By the way, thanks for all the comments and congrats on my car everyone....I'm lovin' it!!!!....beautiful car..gets lots of attention...

Your Grand National

Congratulations on your car. Try and make it to E.J.'s Bash on June 5. I promise you will have a great time, the people, cars, and food. You can also join the Houston Buick club. We will be there.

EJ's bash, huh?...where do I find out about that at?....not sure I'll be able to make it however, as I have to work on the 5th. But, as far as the Houston club, I can't actually locate an actual forum or anything...all I get is a bunch of emails that people are sending various other people....any help would be great. Am I missing the main site or something?
