Found out the turbo on my car is a T04B 63 Trim, also known as a V-Trim. 55.4 / 69.9 compressor wheel. 4-bolt

I'm running this turbo with a set of ATR headers, external wastegate, 3in DP @ 24psi.

Here is the compressor map.

My best, the one time I went to the track was a 12.68@108mph with a 2psi launch.

SO, I feel like the combo is laggy. I'm gunna sell the ATR headers and probably get a TE60 to replace this.

Do you guys think this is a smart move?

So the ATR headers were already 4 bolt flanged, if so, KEEP THEM. The ATR headers aren't the lag doggs the Hookers are and if it's already a 4 bolt flange you've got the golden ticket to POWER.

Lag is hard to blame on a 55mm inducer turbo, unless it was in a T4 1.32 housing (which still wouldn't change much since it's probably a 57mm exducer), it's not to be blamed.

What rpm is your 0psi footbrake at with the stock converter?

Having 2:73 gears doesn't scare the 60ft monster either.

I'd have to see more mods etc but I'd assume you're a 5 bolt DP housing so any of the new Billet wheels will do around the 57mm to 62mm compressor side. T4 .68 housing is plenty and it will really wake up over 20psi.

Any engine bay pics around the turbo area?

Thanks for the reply. The ATR headers are not 4 bolt, they are 3-bolt and the car has a 2in steel block with a flange for the external wastegate, the turbo bolts to this with a 1/4in 4-bolt to 3-bolt adapter. The downpipe flange is 4 bolts also.

I'm not sure exactly what the RPMs were when footbraking, likely 2200 if I had to take a guess.

Edit: The real reason I am selling the ATR headers is that they are too close to my A-arm bushing. The stockers hug the engine.

Well I've never seen that setup for us, it looks like an On Center turbo exhaust housing and whatever that contraption is in between the turbo and header flange for the wastegate is even more jacked up.

Any pics of that DP, I'd assume that was customized to bolt on and fit in our engine bay?

2200rpm 0psi is rough, but with that wastegate contraption on possibly an On Center turbo housing, it's hard to point fingers at what needs to go first.

Since you're selling the headers, you might want to check out the new stock TA headers or used Postons maybe (I'd sell you mine but I don't have the funds for the 4 bolt conversion yet). If you have modest E.T. goals then the normal headers, 58/57 turbo and 3" bolt on DP will be just fine.

Yea it is jacked up, none of the ports match on this setup. The downpipe was hand made and welded by a monkey so I will be making a new one to go with the new setup.

Stock headers and something like a TE60 should be fine right? My immediate goals are to hover around a 11.5 ET. In theory I'd like to keep it around that number but I hear everyone always wants to go faster.
