Went to Houston Raceway Park tonight. Wind blowing out of the north about 30 mph (no kidding!). Temp was probably about 58-60 degrees.
Anyway, this was the first track time my son (J-rod) and I had been able to enjoy since the motor went in. He did the driving.
Best pass of two for the night was:
1.76 short time
11.63
117 mph
Not too shabby for the first time out. The car still needs some tuning. We have a wide band O2 and will get some numbers on the A/F ratio. I believe that with a good tune, race gas, and the boost turned up, we can be in the high tens. We were running about 19 lbs of boost and leaving on about 8 lbs.
On the third run, the car died at the starting line. Got it started and it was pig rich. Acted like an intercooler hose off, but couldn't see any. We suspect a vacuum leak.
Anyway, we were thankful we didn't break anything!
