I know, small potatoes for most of you guys...

Put a fresh rebuilt 49 with Garret .63 in my car with mods below. Overall its pretty good, spool is slightly slower from the stocker. dont know if it changes once they are "broken in" a bit or not ?

From what Ive read, this turbo doesnt make a difference over stock until 18+.
Seat of the pants to me seems about right.

Im guessing my next mod, if any, is a bit bigger stall...
 
The 49 & 44 turbos work fine with the stock converter. And, with Alky you should be running 22-24 PSI no problem with the 49. I know I am.:biggrin:

If you're looking for more power, I'd look into heads or a roller cam next.

glag you are enjoying it.not sure about the 18psi thing,on 20psi mine has gone 11.6 at 117.the .63 garret on the 49 was a really fun combo on the stock motor i ran bottom 11's with mine enjoy:biggrin:

I just put the 49 back on my car.
A ported exhaust elbow will help. I have a restalled D5 (2450 stall @ 0 PSI) Changed the downpipe to an old ATR 2.5, test pipe and stock exhaust with a new high flow stock location muffler. Spools like a stocker.
I am running 20 PSI now, soon to be 24.
