I have completed the following mods on an otherwise bone stock 86 GN:

Walbro 340
Hotwire
adj FPR
FP gauge on rail
62mm TB w/ matched plenum and RJC spacer.
Vacuum Brake conversion
Goodridge SS brake lines

Got the car started and it ran with a good idle. Maybe a little high but still good. Fuel pressue at 45lbs w/ vacuum. It used to stumble and fight to saty alive. I'm sure it was a bad fuel pump. It still has a slight hesitation when I press the gas but overall sounds strong. I cleaned the IAC and adjusted the TPS w/i the proper parameters. Any ideas?

Also, now I press the brake and the engine surges and I've got no pedal. I haven't bled the brakes yet so I assume this is the problem. Unless anyone thinks otherwise.

Also when I press the brake and the brake lights come on, the parking lights on the bumper and the side markers come on. WTF!?!? I don't remember this ever happening before. I didn't mess with brake wiring. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks...

FP should be set around 42 with the vacuum line off.
You may be running rich. Do you have a scan tool?

Your assumption is correct. Bleed to brakes and go from there.

Still sounds like a wiring issue to me (??). Back trace your steps and verify EVERYTHING!

I have no scan tool but I know someone who does... I'll be sure to visit him when the brakes are done.

What should I be looking for with regards to the wiring? I didn't touch anything! The guy before me may have (damned stereo hacker...)

Alll guidance is appreciated, I don't know squat about wiring...

I've reviewed the wiring just in case. I cannot find anything out of place. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I Hate wiring issues myself
Are you SURE this only started after you changed your brake system?
Did you bleed the system yet? Could it be that the brake pressure switch has some effect on this? (???)

The only switch to my humble knowledge that effects the marker lights is the light switch. May need to review a wiring diagram. Sorry, can't help you there. Add a seperate post in the wheels and brakes section.

jerryl: thanks for the input, I'll try the brake forum.

On another note, I did had an issue with the alternator where I had to take it apart in order to retighten the outer post. (someone had put a lock nut on the post and when I needed to loosen if to mount the hotwire kit, it came loose and fell inside. Everything went back like it was supposed to...

When I the car is now running, I hear a faint high pitched whining that seems to be coming from the alt and if you listen closely, you can hear a sound like there is something "clinking" around inside the alt case. I made sure to tighten everything so I don't know what it could be. I suppose that if there was something flying around inside it would either have already caused damage to the alt or would have been destroyed at such a high rpm.

Then again it could be all in my head.. I seem to be becoming a car hypocondriac
