Firewall color on T-Types

Just curious, my 86's firewall is black, not body color any other (non black) T-Types or T's out there with it this way from the factory? I know it is an early production 86.

I had a later built 86 and it had a body color firewall. I think it's just something with early 86's.

My 87 was white like the body, it's rattle can black now..........

I wish we took pictures the first time we took this car apart. It was black with some crayon marks.

My 83 has the same color as the body.

I've had 2 86 T-types and they both had black firewalls. From my experience it looks like most 86's were black and 87's were all body color. Seems like it might just be the 86 turbo cars had black since I also had a 86 Regal with a V8 and it was body color

I've had a early and late 86, the late 86 had body color. My 85 was a WH1 car and of course the firewall was black, but I remember it being glossier than the black on the 86

Mine is garnet red like the body. It has a big #79 in crayon just to the right of the powermaster.
