im stumped. have an 84 GN runnin good. As i look through haynes and other car car manuals they show the firing order different in each book. WHY? If the previous owner put the coilpack from 86-87 would it be different? the numbers on my coil dont match up to the cylinders but if i go by the diagram on this site it runs good but WHY dont the numbers match and Why are the other manuals so far off? just wondering if anyone has seen this before.

On my car I have the wires "wrong". By this I mean I have the #1 on the coil run to the #4 cylinder. #2 spot on the coil to the #5 cylinder, and so on. The wires have a cleaner look by doing this.

And since number 1 and 4 , 5 and 2, 3 and six, fire at the same time it doesn't matter. Is this what you are noticing when you see the different wiring between the manuals.

i dont think so but ill look again the. i think that the coil is off an 86-87 due to the fact the numbers on the coil itself arent the numbers off the cylinder. my 1 cylinder wire runs to like the 4 on the coil i think cant remember off the top of my head ill check later and post what it is,.
