Drove over 100 miles to get to the track at LACR 1/4 Drags. My intentions was tuning for MPH, due to not having a rollbar. Ended up getting kicked off the track anyhow which was an accident  Elevation there was really high so I don't know what this will equate to at sea level, all I know is this thing pulled like a freight train. Here's what happend.....

First pass with 19-20 pnds netted a 11.81 @ 118.692 / 1.92 60ft

Second pass with 21-22 pnds netted a 11.44 @ 120.79 / 1.90 60ft

M/T ET Streets were at 21 PSI, wasn't real sure how much I should lower them too? Next outing I'll be tuning for 25 PSI! This is the sweet spot for the 45A, this thing should really haul the mail then.... We'll see.

BTW both runs had O knock and ran smooth all the way down track. There was a slight delay in shifting from 2nd to 3rd on both runs, other than that it was clean.

Man I hate when that happens... :D

Good job.. 130 here we come..

ET Street Pressure To High

Nice runs Ray

Drop the tire pressure until you feel it walking on the big end

I ran 14 lbs of pressure on my new MT ET Street (Radials) and did not feel a bobble at 11.2 @ 125.4 mph (California Speedway)

I was planning on dropping them down to 12 lbs but I was told to either slow down or get a cage...lol

Hi Ray and thanks for the good pointer. Next time I'll try 14-15 lbs and go from there. BTW great time with your combo!!!

Yeah those guys at LACR were pretty anal, even when going through tech. They though I had NOS, I said I didn't and that I was running alky. Anyway a big run around to say the least. Then rambled on about my trunk mounted battery stating somthing about having 3/8 rods bolting it down in the trunk, yada yada yada. and my cut off swith didn't work like it should while the car was running, for some reason when he pushed the rod back in it didn't turn the car off, it stayed running  anyway all the lights power everywhere else did shut off, but the car stayed running. I'll have to look into my wiring diagram again and see what the deal is. It was fun, and running methanol is the shiat. My mind is now wandering with this stuff and it's full potential

Julio if this could possibly happen, I would really be stoked! I am starting to see the full potential of alky injection so anything is possible with a proper tune....and oh yeah...lots of boost :) Thanks!!!

Ray, how much timing were you running?

My MaxEffort-R chip is burned for 26-24, pretty high timing I know. I'm really being cautious and watching for knock, I'm also still running it pretty rich to be on the safe side.

I havent seen the full potential.. Leave that timing where its at.. and just keep playing with it. Watch your MPH pickup.. this one is the key. If you ran 120 you should of run like 95-96 in the 1/8. If you only pickup 20, whats happening is your running too lean. This I found out when I was on the ME-r.. it didnt knock.. but didnt MPH.. I added a TW position and was able to get an additional 7mph. I had done a post a while back whereas I did two dyno pulls. One was 504 at 12:1 AFR the other I added one TW and it went to 512 at 11.4.

I run my MT radials at 14 PSI. If that helps.. but track prep is key.. last thursday nite I ran 11.02 at 127 with a 1.78, 12.20 at 125 with a 2.30 ;) doing shake downs at 24 PSI, 23 degree's timing.

Last.. My alky system is approved by the NHRA for sportsman. If you need the letter.. I can get it to you.

Its the only one..shhh.. ;)

I keep that letter in my glove box at all times...I'm racing darn it.

I would appreciate a copy of the letter Julio, that would be great! Also in the 1/8 the car ran 97.578 mph. and I had the TW on 6, so it may have been running a little lean. If that the case my Omega EGT guage is out of wack. It measured the EGT during that run in the 1100's. I'll go out on one of the back roads and take a look at it again to be sure. I'll stick it on TW 8 next time and see what that does.

Nice passes Julio, there is lot left in that beast! Hope your first in the 9's  You better work on that 2.30 60ft
