My 90 Firebird managed a few clean passes @ the track this past weekend. I did a best of a 12.85@110mph. I had a terrible 2.24 60' It is mainly due to my brakes not holding the boost. I need to install a porportioning valve b/c I swapped from drums to discs. I also got my calipers on wrong so theyre is still air in the system. I am launching of zero lbs of boost and supossedly only 11 lbs of boost max. I think my gauge is messed up. My 60' is w/ zero tirespin off the line. It spins towards the top end of 1st gear. I am running 110 octane mixed w/ 93 octane. Overall I am happy w/ the run b/c I know w/ my brakes fixed, some slicks and some more tuning I'll be deep into the 12's and possibly 11's.

I am using a 93 TT street chip w/ zero adjustments

Congrats on the run....

That run would have been a 12.0 on a more reasonable 1.70 60' time.....

Keep us posted.

Thanks Blazer, I think I fixed the brakes a little, got it to footbrake 2800 rpm's the other day. I also found out that I was running on a bad Walbro 340 Pump that was only 2.5 months old. It has never acted right. I was pulling anywhere from 8-12 degrees of knock retard down after the 1/8th.

I ran a trap speed thru the 1/8th of 89 mph and finished off with a 110.40. I am going to try again tonight and see if I can do any better on the new fuel pump and slightly better brakes. I just hope these bald kuhmos can take the abuse. I need some drag radials... to be continued!

I ran a bunch tonight at the track. Got to race a GMC Syclone(Stock) my best run however was a 13.0272 with a 2.06 60'. Spun shortly there after so I quickly got out and back into the throttle.

2.0673 60'
5.7033 330'
8.5561 1/8et
87.55 1/8mph
13.0272 1/4et
109.26 1/4mph

My best trap speed was 110.28 on a 13.11 with a 2.28 60'

I need some slicks badly as well as some rear braking action! All launches were off Zero boost and maxing 18/20 psi with less than 1 degree knock. Also found and made a few boost leaks:eek: I also think my posi is going out.

When I did my "burnout" I felt the rear almost switching tires to peel or something:confused: I'll just get a 12 bolt!!!

You gotta get those brakes fixed....

We are looking into converting 88ZNX's Turbo6 Iroc... to hydroboost. He can't build boost to good on the footbrake either.... and it is becoming harder to stop north of 130 mph.....

A few weeks ago.... with a 2.4X 60' time.... pushed through the lights... red lit.... got off the gas.... then stomped it.... went a high 12..... at almost 130.....

We will get there....

You keep plugging away...

I'll probably try again after installing my wilwood proportioning valve. It stops alright(for now) @ 110mph.

Well, I ran again tonight. The only changes made were Slicks and rear brakes, I actually could hold boost on the launces, only about 4psi though. I managed a best of;

60' 1.9640
330' 5.3471
1/8et 8.1243
1/8mph 88.72
1/4et 12.5491
1/4mph 111.12

This was on 20psi, 18/20 timing, and 50/50 mix of 93 & 110 leaded. I have a cracked drivers header and the turbo gasket(3 bolt flange) so I think that is limiting some boost since Im pushing through.
