I was searching for some ideas that could possibly prove to be a way to make your own downpipe 2.5"-3". This probably won't look the greatest under the hood, but if you saw what I did to the SS braided cover to patch a leaky uppipe on my car, this would at least look decent. My thoughts would be to cut the flang off of the stock down tube and weld it to this tubing. I know I've read that the stock elbow on the turbo is quite resticting but this could be a step to finding a cheap alternative to the stock pipes. Let's hear it

That was going to be my next choice until Lee made a couple more downpipes. Don't know how long they would last. I know they're stainless but I wonder if there are any problems with leaks and such. The turbo flange would be easy to make, but you would have to go external wastegate. With the wrap on the pipe you would never know it's flex pipe.

If you use 2.5in you could keep the stock elbow and wastegate you have. Then port the elbow out if you like. Hows the car coming along? I got my stock downpipe sitting in garage so if you need it to fabricate something up, let me know man.

I'm almost certain I have injector problems. I get 38-40 psi while cranking the engine over. I pulled the plugs, they're soaked and cleaned them with a butane torch. They are AC 24 gapped at 0.032". It ran fine last weekend but stopped after I jacked the rear end up to check brakes before taking it for a spin. I'm thinking some varnish made its way to one or more of the injectors because they will leak down to 20PSI within 10-15mins. If anyone else has some suggestions feel free to add. Sig says what I've got, pretty much stock. We did get it to run once the nasty gas was replaced. It was a little rich but the smoke was clearing out nicey (fresh rebuild). I'll probably take you up on the pipe Nick once I get my cab painted next week. Later.

Are those my old stockers that I gave you? They did work great when I pulled them. AC 24 plugs, I not familar with those? Do you mean the autolite 24's??

*GNTTYPE site: Six AC spark plugs. Cars running 12.99-13.50 seconds or faster should use R43TS or CR43TS plugs (one heat range colder) and 12.00 and faster cars should use AC R42TS or CR42TS. The CR designated plugs have a heavier electrode (the "C" stands for "Commercial"), but are otherwise the same as the R42TS plugs. Autolite 24 plugs are also a good choice.

Later man, Nick.

No these are my stock injectors. I just went and took a look at yours that I still have in a box on my shelf and they need to be cleaned up a bit too. New orings and a flow test (some paint too maybe) before I try them. Glad you brought them up because I couldn't remember if they were from you. I had a good friend stripe a new 3800 for sensor plugs and wiring type crap thinking it might help me out so I didn't know if the injectors were from him. Do you guys know of anyone in the greater Milwaukee area or Madison area or somewhere in S.Eastern Wisconsin that can clean and flow test injectors? I have had several guys on the board willing to sell stock injectors for $50-$75 so I'm hoping to get these tested before trying those. I'd like to keep the injectors stock (13-14 second hotair is all I'm after). Has anyone rebuilt these injectors before or am I wasting time with them? I started a thread a while back when I tried starting my engine the first time. I'll find the link and hopefully get on the right track soon. Thanks. Shamus

Yes I meant Autolite 24's not AC24s. It ran a few times over a few days and then just stopped starting after I jacked up the rear end to check breaks like I mentioned. When it was running it would rev up great! It idled a little low I think, definetly less than 1000RPM but I didn't have my OTCscanner yet to verify. When we did the break in at 2000RPM (varying between idle and 2000) for about 30mins the smoke was beginning to clear, and the O2 was starting to become more active. It was a bit rich but I noticed my MAF sensor was starting to seperate from the hose adaptor glued to it (aftermarket reman from Napa). I pumped out a bunch of gas again (had about 12galons of crap gas the first time, replaced with 5 new gallons). Then I blew through the fuel filter and it seemed fine (replaced last weekend too). I jumped the fuel pump with the wire by the power steering pump and then I heard the injector leaking while the pump was running. New plugs were drenched. Cleaned and cleaned and tried and cleaned (that #6 plug is getting easier and easier to pull :D ) If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
