Flexplate Install

Is it possible to install the stock flexplate backwards or does it only go on one way?

I aligned all the holes on the flexplate to the crank and torqued the bolts. I installed the engine in the car. I haven't connected the TC to the flexplate yet. Started to 2nd guess the direction of the flexplate. I just wanted to make sure before I went any further.

Here are a few pics. The flat side goes towards trans/converter, the side with the lip or setback goes towards engine. Hope this helps.

By the way, that is not an oil leak, it is strategically placed anti rust lubricant....
