for a tranny swap does the origional car matter?

i burned my turbo 350 up in my 80 monte carlo turbo. i swapped in a turbo 350 out a of a 79 olds delta 88, the delta is a ton heavier, should there be any difference in the transmission?
i don't even remember which converter is in it. i think it was the origional monte converter. the other one i have says "L7" on it. the one in the monte says "X1" and i have onther that says "15" if someone knew what all three numbers meant that'd be great too
