The car has over 13 volts at idle, with the fan on-lights on-radio on it's still over 13. Alternator disconnected, it run but voltage drops to low 13's. Idiot connector disconnected, no volt light illuminated in car, voltage drop to high 12's. Revving, the car sees 12.6 volts, rev and hold rpm results in 13.6. WTF is the problem? Idiot light was cleaned out when I first had this problem... Someone help me please?
 
What exactly is the problem here?? Is your battery not getting charged or something?? To get over 13 volts with the alternator going is normal. When you rev and hold resulting with 13.6 VDC is that with the alternator still disconnected??

Battery voltage

Get a voltmeter and hook it up directly on the battery terminals or the output lead on the alternator and then see what the voltage is. A battery that has been sitting for several hours (engine off) should show a voltage somewhere around 12.5V. When the alternator is running the voltage should go up toward 13.2V and higher. The max should be around 14.5V. I would not worry about what SM is showing if the voltage readings with the voltmeter is correct.!:D

If I remember correctly, I think the issue was the VOLT IDIOT light Correct? It illuminates when your engine is under boost/load?
 
1. Going up hill that car knocks, volt light comes on.
2. Car off, batt reads good.
3. Car on, reads good.
4. Idiot connector at the rear of alternator disc while car running, volts drop slightly, car still runs.
5. Battery disconnected while car still running, good voltage.
**The car never sees below 13v unless, I'm playing with the gas pedal, then it drops to 12.59v or so.**
Should I rev and hold the pedal at high rpms, the car restabilizes at 13.6v.

Anyone have TL or DS to help? I'll pay if necessary to prevent myself from shooting myself in the foot. Call me if needed 223 3464. Mahalo guys, for listening to me whine.
