found $400 yesterday

I went to deposit a check yesterday at the drive up teller and when I
opened the tube thing there was $400 in cash and a personal check in there.
I was like WTF?? Someone put their deposit in the tube and drove away
before even hitting the send button?

Thoughts of doing the wrong thing quickly went through my head but
I did the right thing and sent it back.

Would have been my lucky day if I was a dishonest person...

no it wouldn't have been your lucky day imho, if you took the $400 thats $400 worth of bad karma you have to work off and that **** comes back 10 fold with interest! it wouldn't be worth it as you well know, plus the lord doesn't look kindly to that either. I returned a wallet with the cash in it the other day, the owner was so happy he gave me $30 ($10 for gas in my prius and $20 for dinner) for my trouble, there was around $200 in the wallet.

You did the right thing! Perhaps it was an elderly person, or someone who was distracted by young children in the car. That deposit could mean the difference between someone feeding their family or keeping their home. Doing something dishonest always comes back to haunt eventually.

I put a check and some cash in the tube one day after a LONG shift at work. I was sitting, and sitting, and sitting, thinking man like 3 cars have gone through already on both sides of me, whats taking them so long. I look over and the tube is there. I thought man I didn't hear it hit on the return. I open it up and my check and cash are stilli in there. :redface:
I was so tired form work I completely zoned out and never hit the send button. I just grabbed my stuff and left, I was too embarassed to send it in.

Thanks for all the kind words, makes me feel good about what I did.

I do believe in karma by the way, and would hope someone would treat
me the same way if the situation was reversed.
