A few years back Pronto & Myself along with PONTIAC nuts got to tour STEVE AMES (PONTIAC PARTS) 3 Huge barns here in New Hampshire. He had GTO's & ALL type cars in his collection maybe 90 to 100 cars.

He had a 69 TA covnvert, He had Judges. he had a Ford AFX race car, hemi cuda. on & on.

I would love to go back & tour it. Stupid us we never took photos.

He had a cool sound & laser light show with drag race x-mas trees on the walls. It was a depiction of the 60's in America.

I haven't updated my sig, but I've got 5 other cars/trucks and 2 factory Harleys.

Likewise I toured Ames place as well....biggest thing in that neck of the woods!
He has since then sold his business but operates a wholesale operation now but stil has the massive car collection....

another heavy pontiac hitter is Gary Cave out of Maryland now resides somewhere near PA/Maryland border about 100 GTOs of which 50 sport original paint including several national winners it is his 1965 irish mist GTO that the franklin mint used for their diecast....I know as I set the deal up for the Franklin Mint.

The trick or the forsight is both these guys...started doing this when these cars were dirt cheap.....I did it also to a very small extend problem is like many working guys I sold them to buy the next one....if iit sold for more than I paid for it....it was a good plan in my eyes....never realizing that original paint 4-speed tri-power GTOs would ever be worth more than 7 or 8 grand a pop....

On the plus side I do I have photos to back up my stories....and old license plates from them....

Ames was one of the very first GTO companies....Year One started in his parents home when he was searching for Firebird parts for his car....I started back in 1978 which is basically when the movement first started.....

Awesome. I spy what looks to be a gold 78 t/a. My stepdad had one exactly like that when I was in high school. It was in good shape for being all original. Bird emblems and all. I wish I would have got that car from him when I had the chance.

its a yenko! I could of had a rotted wagon one for free back in 1992 but i had no room or money so i grabbed the valve cover off of it. I did take plenty of pics of it.less than a year ago car craft or hotrod had somebody collection in there and they said he had the only yenko wagon ever made but i know diffrent,

i heard of gary cave i believe he was the guy who tried buying my buddys factory ram air 4 / 4speed 69 firebird that was a sponsored drag car in 69 that has pictures and history and is quite rustfree. Well when he came up here about 6 years ago he offered my buddy $50,000 for his car that was needing a resto and was not numbers matching due to racing history. It was really good $ for the car at the time and the guy was serious he brought $25,000 in a paper bag as a deposit so my buddy get the 455 out of the car and he was gonna pick it up the following week. My buddy got cold feet and backed out. Car is probably 1 of 1 since they only made 57 / 4 speed 69 birds to begin with and has delete everything odd ball golden rod yellow and deluxe hub caps. Also no sound deadener or seam sealer. I'm glad he kept it and i'm sure he is too at this point,

We ran a few errands in this '60 Buick.

I may buy it from him when I go back up.
