Free CD Burning software

Anyone have a free cd burner software they recommend that's not an invitation to PC trouble (virus, worms, etc)?

I had Ahead Nero when it was free, but I had to rebuild the PC and now Nero is $100. I see lots of free ones out there but don't want to chance getting something that will screw up the PC again.
I wouldn't mind buying software for $20 or so, but $100 is ridiculous to copy my own cds!

Seems to work pretty well for free software. Haven't had any virus/trojan or strange network traffic because of it.
