If that's a 3 speed saginaw don't scrap it! The circle track guys kill to get their hands on them. Most of the time the tranny goes for $400 or so.:)

Not sure whatkind of tranny Charlie but it all needs to go.

I have a boss at work who is restoring a 54 Chevy truck. He was just telling me his engine was need of a rebuild. I won't see him until Monday but if it's still available he might be very interested.

I spoke to the boss and he just sent his engine off for a rebuild. He said he is not interested. He said if it was a little earlier he would have come picked it up. Sorry

He's bonkers to not get it for parts. It's FREE.

Unless there's a plethora (Charlie, that means a LOT :P) of these engines laying round that I wasn't aware of. Haha

I agree but he said he does not have any place to store it. His words to me was if he had a pole barn he would drive up and get it.
I reminded him what free meant and that he could use it for parts. He still sticking by the no thanks.

Should i take the clutch and cover off with it too Charlie or just the trans.

Hes going to take the 350 and scrap or sell the buick. one or the other. I dont have the space or id take the car. Any ways if he decides to sell ill post pics and price of skylark he says is in pretty good shape. Car will be here saturday and pics will be available then. Ill make another thread on this in the for sale.

Well the flywheel, clutch, and bell aren't made any more and are fairly small compaired to the whole thing, so if you think it might be useful for some one I'd save them. Look at the input shaft on the tranny as well. You have the different version and each one has markings on the input. No line up to 3 line. What this means is whether the shaft has grooves cut in it around the shaft.

Ill keep the whole tranny and parts. Thanks Charlie
