I just purchased a 109 block to rebuild. I have a NOS (new old stock) 14 bolt
timing cover. Has anyone modified one to work with a 20 bolt block and oil pan?

Lots of people have put the pointed 20 bolt covers on 14 bolt pans but I've never heard of anyone doing it the other way around.

If I had my 20 bolt pan at the house I'd check to see if the blunt 14bolt unit would cover up the pan opening for you.

The nose is wrong. I'm sure if you ask, Earl will trade one for you. I know he's got severeal 20 bolt covers that are new.

Thank you for the input. I may just use the ugly cover that came on the 109
block then.

Do your best to make sure the ugly cover is pretty on the inside. It'd suck ass (and not in the good way) to lose an engine trying to save a little bit of time.
