For those who offered so much assistance, a summary of end results:
-Forced to do a weekend front end suspension rebuild when I found both sets of upper control arm bushings gone.
-Couldn't get polyurethane/graphite bushings in less than 8 days, so to avoid further damage, replaced with stock rubber
-Whew, what a job
-Had much difficulty getting the bushings out. But then I took them to a Goodyear shop and they only got out 2 of 8 bushings in 2 hours. I took them back, tried again with my bushing tool (A China made special on loan) and got all 6 remaining in 1.5 hours.
-Spring compressor wouldn't fit in the hole in the body, so had to use jacks to compress. Worked fine taking out, a real bear putting them back in this way.
-Now that its done, wow-rides like a new car.
