I have one NEW TCI BOP flexplate shield for sale. SFI certified and NHRA required for faster than 11.99. I bought this new from Jeg’s for 69.95 plus 7.95 shipping. I was initially planning to use this as well as a trans blanket. I recently decided to use the overpriced CSI shield which is $300. Have no need for the flexplate shield and Jeg’s only allows returns within 60 days (why I don’t deal with them unless I have to). These are typically in and out of stock on back order, I waited 2 months for this one to come in. I’ll part with it for any reasonable offer plus shipping (probably $7). This is brand new and in the original box. If I can’t sell it I’ll use it as a wall ornament…

Yeah, guess that would be important to know. it's a TH-400 shield. Guess I have to go and update my other posts, damn!

Actually, I wonder why it would matter? Is the trans housing between the 200 and 400 that different? The TCI unit isn't contoured to the trans housing. it's sort of squarish, actually a 5-gon. I'm sure someone on the list has tried it. I don't have a 200 laying around to match it up.

Actually I just checked both the Jeg's and TCI web site and it's just listed as a BOP shield, not differentiating between TH400 and TH200R. I'm going to go down to Rich's Custom Auto and match the shield up against one of his 200's he's got in stock.

I know 400's and 350's are interchangeable, TCI doesn't list anything for the 200R.

actually, I think all you need between 9.99 and 10.99 is a tranny blanket........and it doesn't even come close to the flex plate...maybe at 9.99, you need the shield plus the SFI flex plate

at least that is what we get away with here....

We do have a shield that is designed for the multi-fit (BOP/Chevy) bellhousing seen on the 200-4R as well as some TH-350 transmissions. It's part number 940075. Our 940070 shield fits BOP-patterned TH-350/400 transmissions plus the less common BOP-only 200-4Rs.

Who is "we"? I thought you didn't work for TCI anymore...

So at this point we don't know if Art's piece will work on the TR tranny (as we do not know which p/n it is). Is it correct to assume that the TR 200-4R is not the "less common BOP-only 200-4R?

'We' be TCI.

I've been back here since August 2001. Kinda like I've never left at this point. :p

Anyway, some earlier production 200-4Rs were built with BOP-only bellhousings. I'm not exactly sure what specific applications they were but the 84-87 TRs (& 89 TTA) had the combination bellhousings. I assumed from Art's post that he has part number 940070, BOP shield.

He said he'd match it up with a 200-4R at Rich's and report back. Let's see what he says.

Yes, it's part number 940070, stamped on the box. I had posted a link to the Jeg's web site in the "parts for Sale" section but didn't cross post the link. Here's the link:

I didn't get down to Rich's last night cause I worked late. I'll try to take a drive down tonight and check it out.

Just waiting on the engine. Car is pretty much all ready to go. I'd personally rather go all the way down the track with the front end up vs. the back end sideways!! :-)

let me know so we can meet up at e town .i want to make a couple of passes and try out the fogger on the hurst olds ,and i dont want to do it at long island dragway.

OK, sounds good to me!! Hoping to have the engine back in the next 2-3 weeks. Spoke to Bobby at RPE and he's just about finishing up his circle track stuff so should be able to start on my engine next week if all goes well!
