I ran the car and parked it in the garage for storage, once I went to start it the battery was dead and after changing the battery it would start for seconds if I let the car sit then after the initial fire it would just crank and crank and crank. Low fuel pressure so I changed the pump. Still nothing! So far I replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, cam sensor ( months before problem) and the efc module on the pass fenderwell. Any suggestions?: confused:

Here is a flowchart at vortex buicks. Could also email Steve Wood, who designed the website. Maybe could be the crank sensor? Bad spark plugs? I once replaced the coil pack and a week later the car wouldn't do anything. Was like the battery was removed.....turned out to be the ignition module. The reason I say this is because, in my case, a bad ignition module did not let the car even turn over.

You say it starts then dies. Then wont start again. Meaning when you first turn the key on there is fuel pressure and you can hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds. Then after it starts, it dies a few seconds latter. If so, then your problem is the anti-theft in the chip is activating.

We cannot discuss how to go around this on public forums. You need to refer to its instruction manual or contact the vendor who sold you the chip for de-activating the anti-theft.

Its not like the car really starts its like it wants to and if I went now I would have to wait a while for it to do the same thing but if I sprayed something in the throttle body it would run.. I also checked all the fuses and everything was ok.

I took out the ECM and is is a remanufactored one. The chip states that it is a DELCO and the sticker on it says CMM 1865. The ECM part number is 77-6459 and the service # IS 1226459. Any ideas what else will fit?

Does the fuel pump run for a second when you turn key on? Do you have fuel pressure?

Is there a hotwire kit on the car for the fuel pump? If the 30 amp relay for that is bad it can do what you are decribing. Mine did that last year when I took it out of storage. The pump would prime (sometimes) and the car would run for 5 seconds until the pump lost power.

That relay is usually mounted near the fuel tank or in the trunk.

I changed the relay under the hood but that didnt help.

I havent put a meter on it but it is like it should be after I changed the pump.

Problem solved! I got a new ECM and that solved the problem, it started right up. Thanks for all your sugestions.
