Ok well here it goes my car always reads a 1/4 high on the fuel gauge int he dash its analog. I know it can be the float but I am on my 3rd pump an thats not it. I also know it ca be the gauge itself an I am on my 3rd. i know this one is good cause it came outta friends car.. I hav eread sometimes it can be the contacts on back of the gauge itself an to use a eraser to clean them but nothing has worked I am @ my witts end. I know I can use my odometer to see when to fill up an judge it that way but that is so ghetto to me almose like a rag hanging outta the fill up.. O an get this when I drainthe tank it goes to empty  . An I have a good duble pumper in there I know even thought that makes me think sending unit.. Anyone got any ideas??

Get a low fuel level circuit and install it into your dash and see if the idiot light for low fuel comes on before your gauge reads its low. If it does then you have a way to know that your getting low because these are wired to come on at about 1/8 of a tank left I believe.

I have an idea.

Get used to it. It's a Buick Regal, these things just scream ghetto

Sounds like you have replaced everything besides the wiring between the dash and tank. The gauges on these cars suck, now the wiring is getting old. I don't see much else you can do.

Maybe someone can help

LOL. I just drained the gas out of the tank just to see how much was in it before I went to the track. :p My sender is bad and it just reads full all the time. Glad I checked it, I was pretty low.

senders

Hi,
Our cars have notoriously inaccurate gas gauges. Mostly, the cause will be a bad sender. Occasionally, the gauge is at fault. Take your pick. Good luck!

Installed a brand new double pumper in my 18,000 mile GN. Now the gauge was stuck at 1/4 tank for 2 weeks, then it moved up to 3/4 and has been there for another 2weeks. Sweet. I'm on the ghetto train also.

Come'n ride da train...a ride it.

Whoo-whoo :D

Mine seems to read low. It never goes to full and hits E pretty quick. (Seems connected to my foot somehow though ;) ) . My ghetto trick is when it's on E, I dump on the brake. If the hand moves I know I'm okay.
