Fuel gauge pegged out

Fuel gauge use to work fine till i had a problem with fuel sending unit and had to replace. So now that the new on is in the guage does read correctly. It just pegs out to full or empty. Have any one had this problem and can help? Im guessing its a bad ground some where but dont know where to start!

When mine did that,it was a bad ground at the tank.

Where the ground at the tank? Are u talking about the main connectors at the tank?

The ground inside the tank for the fuel level sending unit,was corroded.
I replaced the whole unit.
I was going to post a pic of the old one,to show where it corroded,but I've looked all through my shop,and couldn't find it.

Thats the same thing that happened to mine i just replaced the sending unit also

Well drop the tank and low and behold the floaty had came off the unit so thats why it wasnt regestering it. thanks for the advice!
