I have a KB hood mounted FP gauge and today on the way back from Beaumont,Tx. It would flutter in a 5psi range when I accelerate. not so much when I was cruisin at a steady speed(maybe 1 psi) Is this a sign that my pump is fixing to go out? I have a hotwired BGC pump. Maybe this is a good excuse to get a Walbro. Filter is clean as a whistle. Anyone else run across this problem before?

I had the same thing a while back and when I replaced my pump, the ATR billet fuel pump thing to replace the hose had one the silicone rings or whatever torn so it was obstructing flow. It would fluctuate about 3-5 psi on mine. If you have the fp hose on yours, don't worry about it though. May be the pump wiring. Is it hotwired? I blew a fuse a few weeks ago cause the wire had rubbed through. maybe yours is grounding out somewhere. just my .02.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is hotwired. wiring is good to go. The reason I suspect this, is that I recently had the tranny built and when I picked it up, I was almost on empty. This means that the transmission shop road tested it with not enough fuel in it. I was thinking that it could have caused some damage to the pump running it in a road test condition at WOT to see how hard and at what rpm's it would shift out at. Guess I will just swap it for a walbro and see if I am right.
