I'm putting a fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge on and I was trying to remove the schrader valve. I unscrewed it most of the way, but then the little rectangular part the tool holds onto snapped off. I pulled out the valve pin and spring and tried to use an extraction tool to remove it, but that only smashed the rest of the valve more tightly against the inside of the threads. Am I screwed or, with the pin out of the way, will I still get an accurate pressure reading?

If it wont unthread then youll probably have to drill it out with the smallest bit you have on a very slow speed, you do not want to create any heat or sparks  , after your done place a hose on the end of the rail and prime the system into a bucket to get rid of the metal filings. Taking off the FPR may not be a bad idea either to ensure you get it all out but youll have to place a hose on that part of the rail also.

You may be able to push what is left of the seat inside, but then the peices will end up in your fuel rail. I have dug them out with a small pair of needlenose pliers once the rectangular piece is out. There is also tool available to tap the threads inside the valve if necessary. Try putting your guage on and see if it works.

If I can push it back inside the rail, is the fuel rail straight open to that opening the regulator fits into (without anything to block it)? If so I could fish it out through there.

I would just take the fuel rail off and get the pieces out..why risk anything??
