Fuel pressure

I have a 1987 GN with 50 lb injectors, adj fuel pressure reg, gs307m fuel pump, turbonetic turbo, and front mount intercooler. When I get on it the boost will go as high as I adjust for but the fuel pressure is only going up 10 lbs to a max of 50 lbs. (from a base of 40) I have not hot wired the pump yet or put a volt booster on it. Will these two items help the issue of fuel pressure (1 pound of fuel pressure increase for every 1 pound of boost) or will they only help the fuel volume. Any help would be appreciated!

Hotwire it regardless. That way you'll get the full alternator output voltage to the pump.

How much boost psi are you running, what scantool, and are you getting any knock?

Volume and pressure are directly related just like current and voltage. An increase in pressure (voltage) overcomes resistance to flow which nets more volume (current). Pump volume is required to achieve & maintain pressure at a given flow rate.

Did you replace your fuel filter? You could have a restriction!
I have seen filters where the media has collapsed inside.
Does the fuel pressure spike and then taper off the longer you stay into the throttle? Are you sure your gauge is accurate?
Do you have an adjustable regulator?

A GSS340M would have been a better choice for your application.
