hey guys i have a serious problem i cant figure out i was driving my car monday thru thurs perfectly fine no prblems then woke up friday morning to go to work and the car just cranks and cranks but wont start up so i figured it was my fuel pump becuz beofre when it was running good when id turn the key once i could hear the fuel pump activate and that friday mornin i didnt hear it no more ok so i went and bought i new fuel pump and installed it and i still have the same problem fuel pump wont make that little winning sound before u turn on the car i know the pump is good becuz i connected it directly to the battery to test and it works what is the problem ? i have spark and everything else sems fine any advice or suggestions u can tell me i really aprreciate thanx

If it's not the FP/inj fuse, try the fuel pump relay. You can make the pump come on by running power to the single wire connector hanging out of the wiring harness near the powersteering pump. It's the black or brown one, not the green. If the pump comes on, it's something upstream of the connector like the relay.

I am knee deep in a similar problem. Check fuel pump/injector fuse first. Check the fuel pump relay. Pump should come on for 2 sec when ignition is turned on. Fuel pump relay controls this. After the oil pressure switch sees something like 3-5 psi a parallel circuit on the same fuel pump/ injector fuse closes to keep the fuel pump operating even if fuel pump solenoid is not operating. I think my problem is a ground issue. Still working through. You can test the fuel pump by jumping 12 V to the fuel pump tap. If the pump runs when jumped then there is a problem in fuel pump circuit. The correct fuel pump relay can be ordered through NAPA. If you go to "the zone" they will likely list same solenoid as for AC cutout....don't you believe it. AM

see thats where my problems is guys when i turn the ignition key the fuel pump doesnt come on i put a new fuse cuz the one in the was burned out i have anew fuel pump and i know it orks cuz we tested it so how do i check the relay and how do i know if its good or bad or if its that ?

I have E Mailed you some pages from the Service Manual. It has the decision tree for the solenoid etc. AM

I have been trying to send the promised documents:) Yahoo would not accept them as a single batch. When I broke them up into parts, it said you were over your quota:mad: Please check your account and I will try again later. I suppose we could somehow trand=sfer the file over the BB but I have not done that before. AM

damn i sure wish i had one of those i dont have either i aint that high tech yet lol but u can try this email diaz.Alfredo@att.net or if u have any other way of doing this let me know becuz im about to take my car to the mechanic if i cant solve this problem myself

I hope we make it this time. I sent the thing in five parts to avoid the size limit. None have bounced back so far. You will need adobe pdf reader to open the file. Try the address bove. I will gladly cpoy these off and mail them to you if you so desire. Good luck Am
