why does my car not like high psi? even with stock inj. it would run like crap. i put a 60 psi reg. on it one time and same thing. now i must run around 30 psi to get the car to run right.if i turn it up it has no power, when i get on it the psi only goes up to 40 psi from 30 is this normal?

basically if you're running a stock turbo and boost levels you aren't flowing enough air to need that much fuel.

is your chip for an 84 or an 87?

you should set your fuel pressure with the vacuum hose off.when you put the hose back on it'll come down~.5 psi per inch/vacuum.then when under boost it'll rise~1 psi per # of boost.

so,if you're running 40 psi(hose off) and you are running 15 psi boost you should have 55 psi at wot(40 psi base+15 psi boost).

if this doesn't happen you have a problem.

chip is for a 85, it is now a pte 93 oct. i have also seen the psi go down to 20 psi when the fuel is down to 2 gal.(from 30 psi) if i set the psi to say 35 psi should it ever drop under that?the psi seems to follow the vac. and boost, however it does not go up one psi per one psi of boost.it does till after 10 psi then stops at 40. maby i have a bad reg. thanks

My fuel pressure drops like that also.....tells me I'm running out of gas..!!
