I am looking at buying a red armstrong pump off someone on here. How does this compare to a walbro 340? Also I heard not to run a walbro 307 but I see a lot of you guy use them. What's the deal with those also. Thanks:D

A Red's pump is actually......

a Walbro 307...I think. That's what I was told anyway. I bought a Red's pump from a member here and that's what he told me. People run them with good luck. Something about the relief pressure is higher on a 340. A 307 will go to 60 lbs of fuel pressure and a 340 will go higher and from a base setting you have to add 1 lb of fp per 1 lb of boost......example base setting is 40 pounds of fuel pressure you run 20 pounds of boost and at that 20 lbs your fuel pressure will be at 60 lbs...the limit for a 307. Someone can probably explain it better than me. If you are going mild and not wild with the car the 307 will be fine.;)

Well, in a hotair you run less fuel pressure anyway, I do?I'll be damned if i dont blow black smoke all to hell and knock and ping like a sOB if i run more than 36 psi!!

So on my setup, with the 307, I have room for roughly 22 psi of boost..

btw, the walbro does not "shut off" at 60 psi, the stock pump does however..

the 307 can supply fuel past 90 psi I think, though less volume, however in this case, it shouldnt be an issue if you use stockish sized injectors... you should be able to crank the boost plenty with a 307.. just my ejumacated guess though - you could safely run mid-low 12s with one.

Can someone fill me in on any misconceptions I might have about this??

as far as i know the 307 is cool and the gang,a little less volume, but more than enough till you reach at least mid 11's.
