Fuel Pump Staying On

Every once in awhile, when I shut off the car, I can hear the fuel pump running for another minute. It doesn't happen everytime, just maybe 25% of the time. Is my relay bad? It is a Walbro 340 w/ hotwire kit. I checked my connections and they all look good. I am just worried now because my battery went dead on me a couple times during storage after only a week (brand new battery) and I am wondering if the fuel pump is just kicking on randomly when the car is shut off and running down the battery. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
