Sorry:
I forgot to inform you that I placed a Postons High Performance Fuel Pump in the gastank, but I dont think that it is hot wired because I checked today to see if there was a wire running from the back of the alternator to the gastank and there was none. PLEASE help me to have this car run strong. It does run very strong, but once you put the pedal to the metal it's start to KNOCK all over the place so I have to let go the gas. What would be the HP on my vehicle with the modifications that I have. I also have a chip that Lawrence Conley burnt for me when I had it in his shop for about 5 months two years ago, but I dont think that he made it for an 86 since my GN is an 85 and did not (Probably) noticed my ECM. I also have another chip from Hypertech for an 85 which gave about 20 pounds of boost when I had it installed, I have not placed that one back, but I think that I will try it tomorrow and see how it works, I remember that that one did not KNOCK like the other two. What do you think if I was to ask Jim Testa to burn me one for an 86 and see how that one will work. I need Testa's phone # so that I can call him to have him burn me one. THANK-YOU Guys for your input, Nobody here in Laredo, Texas kno0ws about these vehicles. Thank You, Thank You

You definately want a hotwire. Go to gnttype.org and they will have the part# for both computers so you will know for sure which one you have and not have to guess. You might want to check your TPS voltage to make sure it's going to at least 4.5V at WOT.

You can't monitor knock with your ears. If you can hear it you're way over the limit. You want to tune for 0-1 degree of knock retard. It takes about 13 degrees before I can hear it with my ears.

OK LETS ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS

LOOK at the ecm and get the #'s off of it. then if it is a 86-87 ecm then we need to see if it has a mat sensor and see if it is pluged in right. no go putting chips in left and right see what u have first. then after all that is checked out lets see what size the injectors are and get a chip burned for all of this let me (us) know on what u got
