I really did try to search this, but couldn't find it.

Anyone know what the fitting size on the fuel rail test port is? The one with the schrader valve in it???

I'm trying to come up with a fitting to stick on the end of it to mount my sending unit for the FP gauge. The FP gauge says it is 1/8" NPT male. I thought the test port for the rail was -6AN or -4AN (based on a thread I DID find on the board about a sending unit connection).

The guys at my local AutoZone here are absolute morons - I didn't even bother to ask.

O'Reilly's - the guy the guy there said the fitting is neither of those and is some kind of metric. Turns out he owns a "hot" GN. I asked him what he used on his FP gauge & he said "nothing - I have another fuel line going to it". So I thought - wow he runs a double pumper - Must be fast!! He proceeded to tell me the fastest he'd gone was 13 flat! I'm kinda thinkin' he might not know either.

Caspers sells a fitting for this if you don't come up with one

I looked at theirs, but it LOOKS like theirs is basically a "splitter"; a -4AN female to 2x -4AN males. At a MINIMUM I need -4AN female to 1/8" NPT female. Thanks for the info, though.

I'm going to buy this thing from Summit & try to tap the threads for the schrader valve in it and see if I can make it work.

Thanks for the help!

taping a schrader isnt going to happen

get the fitting from one of the vendors, its the fitting they use for the rail mounted fuel gauges. -4an to 1/8 npt and it will work if you leave the schrader in the rail

see it , how are you going to get the port to go in the direction you want , it will be wherever it wants to be after you tighten it
shrader tap is usually on four way tire stem tool
if you do use that id make sure you buy and use a -4an cap that seals positively

could have just called mike at fullthrottlespeed.com

I see what you mean about orientation of the 1/8" NPT fitting, but I figure I have a 50-50 chance of getting it in a direction that I need.

How did the factory do it? Isn't that just a Schrader valve in the end of the fuel rail from GM?

I WILL call Full Throttle now.

HA - I'm not in a huge rush. If I get to it, I get to it. If not, there's always next week.

Do you see what I'm getting at on that adaptor from the pic on the thread? Wouldn't I be able to thread the internal of the male fitting on the adaptor to accept the external threads of the schrader? I have not pulled the schrader yet to look at it, but it seems like it would be just a matter of figuring out what the threads are.

I don't know - maybe I don't have a clue.

?

I happen to have the Edelbrock 4 AN female to 4 AN male with the 1/8 NPT port on it. The male was tapped on the inside using a tap from a tap and die set to cut the threads required to screw in a schroeder valve.

Works fine. Not sure what you're implying. Hell I think i have a second fitting (black anodized) of the same type that is aluminum with the inner male nipple tapped.

It can be done fellas.

p.s. those tee fittings Caspers sells bend too easy and can't/won't take much abuse. The thick one Edelbrock makes is a beefy steel type.
