Fuel Tank Sending Unit

I have a racetronix 550 pump setup. I changed to e85 which I decided to pull the sender and completely drain gasoline and any debris before filling with e85. It was that simple of a process, and now my fuel gauge reads zero. I pulled the tank back out and confirmed my sending unit was correct, all wiring intact. (this was new 2 months ago) I emailed racetronix and they said I need to work through my vendor. Maybe somebody here can point me in the right direction before I do that. Well, I would be reaching out to the retailer you purchased the sender from. Did you put a meter on that sender when you had it back apart and run that float through its range to see it was generating the correct "signal" for the dash to read? Or if it was doing anything? Then check under the dash where it goes in to see about "signal" there. If it wasn't, then time to start following wires and seeing about crushed, frayed and such that would cause an interruption in the circuit.

I ran it through its progression physically, but its almost like it simply stopped working. no wires were damaged pulling the sender its pretty straight forward. I am unsure of how to find the "signal" No I haven't contacted a vendor because I am simply looking for some immediate help, possible tests for me to try first.

By putting an ohm meter across the leads and moving the float the ohms(resistance) should change. The ohms range is different for digital vs analog dashes.

OHMS are 43 between ground and signal at the sending unit which would be about right for how much fuel is in it. I wonder if my needle on the dash buried and just needs to wake up or get cleaned.

Well, thanks to few people who reached out, I have a resolution. I have leaned about the wire harness, thats for sure, but the fix was actually easy, but thats easy to say now. When I pulled the alky kit and harness, I had used a rubber grommet to hold the low fuel bulb in the assesory lights. I must have pulled the plug back slightly fromtheguage pod when i pulled this wire through that had the rubber grommet on it. The fix was easy because I pulled the guage pod towards the rear of the vehicle and then upon re-engagement the fuel guage is now powered. hope this can help someone down the road.
