Fuel vapor cannister replacement

I am going to replace my original cannister (long overdue) and would like some advice on an aftermarket replacement product. What do you recommend. thanks, Leon

Don't overthink it. Just get a parts store replacement. It's not a performance item, and any aftermarket unit is going to incur extra cost because you'll have to use something other than the factory rubber vacuum lines to hook it up.

it doesnt go bad , the fiberglass filter pad at bottom can get dirty , its just a can filled with active charcoal that absorbs gas tank fumes and then releases back to engine on decel (stock chip)

Just replace the charcoal filter. Maybe the hoses..

Ot comes off the fender justb like the oil fill comes off the vavle cover.

Twist left and gently pull up.

Thanks for the quick replys, it's the original cannister (I have owned the car since new) and have noticed a gas smell in the garage and could not find any obvious leaks and one of the symptoms of a failing cannister is gas smell. That and it's age seems to be a good enough reason to replace it. Will check with the autoparts store.. Thanks, Leon

I replyed before seeing TurboTguy post. The car is in winter storage until probably April so will have to wait till then to work on it. Leon
