fuelab speed control and xfi

my fuelab pump has a built in speed controler can xfi control the pump for me without buying a hobs switch ?

We worked on this exact thing for the better part of a whole day. After talking with the Fuelab engineers several times, we just couldn't get it to work off the fast or off TPS signal(0-5v). It is a low/high speed operation--not a variable operation.
Ended up using a Hobbs switch--took about 5 minutes to hook up and it works perfectly, i really wish i would of saved the whole day and done the Hobbs right from the start.
