Funny shifting

I just rebuilt the tranny and put in all the normal upgrade goodies, and now when i get on it between 2-3 shifts really sloopy and then the scanmaster detects knock, when driving normal it shifts fin e, is the valve body or pump?/?

Put a pressure gauge on the trans and run it up to see what happens to the line pressure on the 2-3 shift. Chances are great it is cavitating. Let us know. Mark

what do u mean cavitating? i just got the whole tranny rebuilt?

Cavitation is from the filter pick up sucking air. When you are under hard acceleration the fluid is pushed to the back ot the trans and the filter is starved for fluid. When it sucks air it causes line pressure lose and apply presure to the servo is lost resulting in the band not being applied firm enough to keep it from slipping.
