Anyone have any experience with these radiators and is it a drop in piece or does it require any additional massaging for correct fit? Is the cooling efficiency really worth making the change?

I have one in my car and out of the box it looks like a very nice piece. I didn't do the installation but I was told that it had to come in and out of the car a few times until everything fit correctly. I don't think it was anything that was a big deal, just some re-bending of tranny cooler lines and such. My cooling system was all stock minus a 160 tstat and with the front mount on the car it wasn't possible to control the temps, just idling on a warm day it wouldn't really stay below 180, and on the highway would cruise up to 200 instantly and stay there. A hot day would be even worse, so I avoided those more or less. Now, I don't think I've seen the car get over 175 yet no matter what I've been doing. Even with a WOT blast the temp comes right back down to where it should be. I'd buy the radiator again, I've been nothing but satisfied with all of gbodyparts products.

I have had one for over a year now and my test for capacity was in street traffic at 110 degrees with the air on and the temp would just barely get to 208 but any movement and it would drop back to 190-195. The mods were: lower cushions need to be ground out a little to fit over the aluminum welded areas, mounting clips and that was it. My transmission lines connected without any problem.

On my last GN I noticed the trans lines started leaking at the connections. Pulled the rad and put teflon tape on the fittings. Did the trick. I would do this before installation to save the headache.

Thanks for the responses guys. I know there are a few other vendors out there selling similar products so I am trying to do a little homework.

I've had one for 2 yrs in my GN. Fits perfect, lightweight. Temps are 175 driving and 185 idling at most and the fan hardly ever runs. The stocker would go over 200 at a fast food drive through IIRC.

You should run a ground wire from the bottom of the aluminum radiator to a frame ground to eliminate possible electrolysis. I did, and it works. Mine is also from Brian at GBodyparts. Works just great, nice fit.

Think I had to reposition the rubber cushions but easy install and temps even with the single fan never got above 185 in the dead of summer.

The thing works beyond AWESOME!!!!

I have nothing but huge compliments to hand out about it. In my opinion it is worth every penny and I glad I choose to install it. Cooling is never an issue no matter how hard we run the car.

I agree with the other posters - it was a great purchase, and installation was pretty simple. I just had to trim the support cushions a bit. We had 68! days over 100deg this summer and I never saw water temps over 175-180 with a 160deg thermostat. My stock rad couldn't get it under 200 on a "cool" 90deg day.

Righty Tighty :p:D

Had one for a couple of years, like it, good product!

It was as if the neck was a bit to tall and it didnt seal the bottom of the cap so it would not build pressure or close of f to the overflow tank

Otto that is the first time I ever heard that. If you had a problem you should of let me know bud.

Not a huge deal Brian. I sanded it down what it needed, didnt want to bother sending it back and forth.
Cooled fantastic!!
