Gary Scelzi goes 328 in Funny Car

First he goes 327.9 and needed like a 325 to back it up so he goes 328.06 and uses the 327 to backup up his new funny car record. That is hauling ass in a FC.


ESPN2 was full of interesting facts last night.

Top fuel Dragster or Funny car engine makes 610 revolutions to complete the quarter mile. I forget the avg RPMS but I think it was in the high 7000 range. ( Of course a lot of those engines can't even make all 610 revolutions)

Pro Stock engine makes just over 1000 revolutions and I think the avg RPM was in the high 8000 range. 8700 maybe


By contrast a Indycar running a 500 mile race makes like 14 million revs.
