Been getting a vibration of sorts that felt like it was coming from under the car/exhaust. When I bang on the mufflers, everything is nice and tight. When banging on the tailpipes I get a rattling sound. All of the hangars are good and tight so i started banging around back there and its coming from the gas tank. All of the mounting bolts are tight, it seems like its the tank itself (maybe the baffle inside loose?) Anyone else have this problem? Am I looking at replacing the tank? Saw this on Ebay for $100 shipped, anyone use one:

Got kids? You wouldn't believe the stuff I found in my S-10 tank whenever I swapped fuel pumps!

The baffle can come loose, mine did. If you have an erratic fuel gauge that is a good clue, the arm might hit sometimes.

You'll have to crawl under to see whats going on. You have a set of three fuel lines that come close to the tank, mounted in a rubber block which may be missing.
Causing them to hit the tank.
You also have the three lines running up over the axle housing. They come close to the upper trunk shelf underside. It may be all you need
is to cut a piece of fuel line, slit the side and wrap it around the area that is hitting. Secure it with a cable tie.
While you are under there check the condition of your fuel lines.
Mine were so close to rusted through, they started leaking as I was taking them off.

Digital Dash so gauge was never 100% reliable anyway, but not too bad. Checked around under there a bit this morning and the rattle is definitely the tank. Looks like its time for a new one. Anyone buy one of those Ebay tanks for $100 or so? How did it work out?
