Hi everybody I want to ask a question about gas. First I will list my mods. I have a 53,000 mile 1986 GN. It has a TA 49, Blue Top injectors, alcohol injection (I no longer use, I just use race gas), 160 thermostat, adjustable boost controller from cabin, 3 inch downpipe, no cat, 2 1/2 inch, solid drives side motor mount, Ram air filter set up, Walbro 340, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a Jim Testa 100 octane chip. I don't even know if Jim is still around. But anyway I run 21 pounds of boost on 112 octane gas (Sunoco) which is getting hard to find nearby. Does anyone run the 100 octane unleaded and what kind of boost can you run without any knock? On 112 octane I only get an occasional knock on the 1-2 shift and that is not engine knock. I prefer to run very safe and not hurt the engine; that is the reason for running race gas and not using the alcohol injection. I can run mid 12's with Nitto drag radials (275/50/15) very safely and can run quicker if I want to push it. Thanks and if anyone knows if Jim is still around p0lease let me know.
