Doing some spring cleaning, fresh ta-49 install and let her run for a few minutes. From the looks of the seal and judging by the amount of smoke and the fact that I feel the air pushing out of this gasket, I'd say the seal is shot. Looking for input as to how to go about changing this seal. Most of all, I didn't mess with this part during the turbo install so will I need to disconnect any parts of the turbo? Attached are a couple pictures where I could feel exhaust blowing out from the seal. No hissing sounds or abnormalities other than copious fumes in my engine bay. Thanks in advance for any input!

No, the spring is wrapped around a shoulder bolt. Run the bolt down until it bottoms out. Spring preload is set by the length of the shoulder.

Any pics of how it should look? Sorry not sure what you mean by letting the bolt "bottom out"
