Hey guys & gals,

I had a few questions regarding my 86 T.

One is, how do you clean the IAC sensor? I don't want to clean it with the wrong thing.

Two is, do the turbo buicks benefit from aftermarket ignition? If so, what is the most popular kind?

Three is, what benefit would I see from getting the stock heads reworked, meaning ported and polished?

Four is, does a stock motor benefit from some of the aftermarket intakes and throttle bodies I've seen? The car has already got a power plate.

That's all I have for now. Actually I have ALOT more, but I'll try not to push it! :D

Thanks!!

I've got some help for questions #1 & #2: Go to WWW.GNTTYPE.ORG for the IAC cleaning method. As far as the aftermarket ignition goes, people have gone 10's with the stock coil & ignition module.

CrusherUsher,

Since WH1 answered your IAC question I'll try and answer the rest. For your ignition, the stock stuff is plenty good. As long as you have a factory coil pack that is in good shape you should be fine.

A port and polish on the heads will help a ton. Most folks don't do this until down the road in the modification process. You can look at my signature. With the mods I have heads and a cam will be my next mod. Heads will help, but assuming your car is stock it wouldn't be the first thing I would do. I think the best thing you could do is put the heads on the back burner for now and max out the stock stuff you have. There are plenty of cars using stock heads that are well in the '11s.

If your T is stock the first thing I would do is put a fuel pump and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. If you don't have one buy a scan tool.

Mods depend on how fast you want to go. Take your time and ask as many questions as you can. Everybody up here on the board will be glad to help!

Hey guys,

I will give you a run down of my mods when I get a chance....right now I gotta go!!!

Thanks alot

Let's see,

I have got the following on the car,:

Sounds like you got a nice setup! Get Jay Jackson to bore out your throttle body and plenum, I had him do mine. E mail him at YGETTV8 @aol.com. He's done them for a lot of people, just check their sigs. Around a $100 bucks and shipping.:) Tarey D.

Thanks,

I want a downpipe, a converter, and all the suspension stuff.

How do you like you Simmons wheels? Any pics? What size?

:)

I'm glad you asked that question? I have Simmons wheels on my GN. 17x8.5in. fronts and 17x9.5in. rears. I love em!!! Got BFG G Forces on them. 255 on front and 285 on the rears. Fit perfect. Go to Simmons wheels .com and you can see pics of the wheels on a couple different GN's. E mail me and I'll tell you how to get dealer price on the wheels  Tarey D.
