next thing you know you'll see them being sold as return defective, nothing like a cheap relative who has your wake and funeral in the nice casket and then opts for the wooden box before they put you 6 feet deep. heard of a guy who loved his car so much he was buried in it, been awhile but i think it was a ferrari.

You knew it was only a matter of time before Walmart stepped up and figured a way to make a few more dollars on your "end" trip out of this world.
Seeing a Made in China sticker on the coffin would be cause for concern about warranty. Heck I just saw on TV that most of the masks people are rushing to buy to prevent the flu are made in China.
As for being buried in your car I think recently a lady in my state was buried in her Corvette and a gentleman in the Carolinas was buried with his gun and his full size Pontiac. No doubt those plots were a few dollars over the normal size plot.
I know when my Uncle passed away we made sure his car keys was in his pocket and his plot was near the main highway.....I thought about giving him the latest issue of the National Enquirer also as I would mail it to him every week when his health failed and he could no longer go out to the store.......

Aside from the GM licensing issues.....your idea has merit....
We could even duplicate the oil stains on the bottom! We could make the lid fit like the trunk lid does on the turbo cars.

I am sure now that Walmart has entered into that hollowed ground....other companies may test the waters as well.
I got a friend who is a funeral director...(most are long time family run businesses).....takes a certain person to be a funeral director besides having a large assortment of black suits.....
GNs are perfect for funeral percessions...
Anyrate true story....
Back in 1961-62 my friend was a teenager...and a huge Chevy fan. The hot car back then was the 409....
His father was ordering a new station wagon in black for the funeral home...somehow he talked his father in ordering a 409 Chevy wagon. I don't think he was able to get a 4-speed in that set up and had to settle for a 3-speed manual.
Neither him nor I was smart enough to realize just how rare that combo was so it got sold years later.......

While its true only a few things remain constant in this world taxes and death are two that quickly come to mind....owning a funeral home demand will always be there....have yet to see one close its doors due to lack of business!

There is a guy in NH or VT that makes $500 pine caskets for the frugal new englander. He takes discounts for PRE CASH orders :biggrin:

From my knowledge of New England.....and buying Turbo Buicks in that area......he better stick to wood and not steel....As rust is a fairly popular appearance on cars of any age that live a neglected life.....

Actually, it looks like they are all made in the USA. Hard to believe for a company that specializes in cheap Chinese crap.
