K so my 87 is getting bad knock[13 deg]at like 15lbs boost.At 12lbs Im OK.Car has big fuel pump[hotwired]36lb inj,fuel set at 43lbs,new filterno cat,other usual bolt on-I just installed a new Turbo tweak Chip,is it possible I just gotta tune it?Pull some timming out-add some fuel-etc.I figured 15lbs was a no brainer,but I guess not.On top of that the air is nice & cool-running straight 94 Pump gas-Just seems like 12lbs is pretty low,& man car is slow!:confused:
 
12 does seem pretty low for 94. Have you done the spring cleaning procedure outlined on gnttype? If not I would start there. Then, once you've verified the plugs are correct and good, intercooler is clean and so on and so forth I would guess you'll need to tune. With the stock turbo I was able to run 12 psi on 91 down here in California so you should definitely be able to get 15 (and probably more) on 94.
 
Yes-new Coil pack-O2's are cross-counting,new Autolites[23]new wires,new injectors,some new rubber hose's-where needed.In cab fuel pressure gage-thats all good.Even had the motor de-carboned,just for good measure!
 
I would go to the Delco plugs, but have you taken into account your fuel pressure regulator may no be correct? Is your gauge for fuel mechancial or eletrical
 
Tried both mechanical & now I Installed an Autometer electric gauge set-up.Both were same & going up properly with boost.good point though-Wouldn't hurt though-I could try more fuel pressure?
 
yea, i had a boost line pop off the compressor and was overboosting real bad before and was none the wiser because i had my stock gauge saying "red light" not 23 psi like i wish it would have!

well, what i would do since its a new chip is go in to the adjustments on the chip and make sure that they r all 128 on all 4 parameters! when i installed my first tt chip, followed all instructions unplugged connector and what not, started car up and drove some. got home checked settings because of pinging issue on 15lbs. of boost and timing was set to 139 1-2 gear and 143 3-4 which comes to some very bad timing numbers for 93 octane!
