Does anyone have some good advice and/or tips and tricks to reduce false knock. I know I need a torque strap, but aside from that, are there any other major causes of this that I can lookout for?

Do you have a scan tool?

And I read in another post you have a pit bull chip in your car... I would turn boost to 12psi till you get another chip. It has 26* timing and thats alot for a street chip w/ no alky! HTH

Yup, Scamaster II, That's where I'm getting my numbers from, but sometimes they seem very incosistent so I'm trying to eliminate any false knock so I know where I stand. Thanks for the info on the chip, I'm hopeing that's my problem.

Are you getting "false" knock only under load? Try a short stab of the throttle in park..maybe up to a quick 4500 rpm. Do you get a knock indication then?

Just put some higher octane gas like 110 in it and that will tell you for sure.

Or, you can turn boost and FP way down and check then.

I think its real if you are running 15psi 94 oct. and a pitbull

I turned my boost all the way down to 13psi and still got 3-4 degrees of KR with that chip and 93 oct.!

You will be happy with a thrasher for $25.00 you cant beat it!

I'm betting that you're all right about the chip. When I stab it in park I don't get any. As soon as identify the injectors for shure, I'll be ordering another chip. Until then I'll back the boost down to save my butt. b4black, Thanks for the heads up on the mounts. I like that better than the idea of explaining to people why my engine is strapped down.
