GM 6.5 turbo

I have found a rebuilt GM pick-up pull-off and rebuilt still in plastic bag for $400 . Are these units desirable for a back-up or a replacement if it 's a bigger unit, for my 86 GN?

Being somewhat green on turbos ,how do measure the size , or determine the model or capacity of this GM unit ? Case markings? stamped numbers?

Holy crap. I had done this already. I put a 6.5 turbo diesel turbo on a stock GN once. I have the turbine housing machined to fit. Ran like a stocker and was not worth the headache to install.

Thanks , that was what I was looking for.I did not realize that there were that many options for turbos. After reading the "sticky" , I'm even more confused. I have nothing broken , just thought this was a bargain for a spare.Thanks for response.
