Folks:

I have been advised that the GM Steel Shim Headgaskets P/N # 25524599 have been discontinued by GM, and the SE locator shows "zero" available in the South East.

I like to use this set-up by stacking them using the special "Barney" sealer.

Any ideas where I can get 4? Anyone know of an aftermarket company that makes the steel gaskets (no composite material) that replicates these which were originally designed for use on the '84 - '85 engines? If so, manufacturer and P/N # pleeeeeeze.

Best to E-Mail me directly.

TIA.

Edward

I got some through the dealer about a year ago. I thought Poston had some also. Do a search in the General section, LOTS of info there. A few guys had been running stacked steel shims on their '86/'87s. Dont remember for sure who it was but someone was actually selling a kit with the construction silicone caulk (Ive still got a new tube of that stuff sitting around come to think of it).

I just picked some up from a dealer here a couple weeks ago when I picked up my heads from the machine shop. Maybe give Jill a call and tell her Eric at Desert Automotive told you to call. Her # is (505) 523-8330

Sorry, this is my fault. I think I used them all up during my "learning" days lol. I still have a stack of 12 blown headgaskets. :)
